From My Dad's Favorite Poem

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert W. Service

Glad you enjoyed it Suz! It's actually a very long poem that I belive he had to memorize and recite in school. By the way, I seem to have lost my "followers" in the last couple days---don't know why! Feel free to "follow" again!

We all got our followers back!
This is my dad's favorite poem

Halloween..Halloween
Oh what funny things I see
Witches hats..cold black cats
broomstick riders..mice and rats

Love hearing about favorite poetry. Have to look up that "Sam McGee"! My favorite poem in grade school was "Jabberwocky". Probably read the same way at Sam McGee.
